Hello Ghouls and Mansters ^__^

Today I decided to make a photo review of the dual pack of Manny Taur and Iris Clops.

My sister and I are super glad we decided to get this year's Comic-Con Monster High exclusive,

it really looks amazing and sooo huge in person!

Unfortunately a lot of people won't have the chance of

even seeing them in real life to appreciate their awesomeness :'(

But what I can do, at least, is share some detailed photos of the box,

the dolls and I'll even scan their diaries for you guys to read.

So, without further ado, here's pictures of the boxes (yes there's 2 actually).


Close-up of the outer box.

The outer box is designed so it looks like Manny's school backpack.

I like that he carries a picture of his sweetie, Iris.

There's a red labyrinth patch in the centre of the bag.

One remark, the doll's backpack is actually grey with a labyrinthine print/texture.

Notice the backpack straps and the buffalo "skullette" on the bottom left.

Top of the outer box. We can spy Manny's textbooks ^^

The sides. I like the sunglasses and the skullette zipper a lot!

So now that we're done with the first box let's take a look at the second one.

The inside box is the one that contains the dolls and it's designed to resemble Manny's letterman jacket.

Close-up. The love-note is from Iris and you can actually pull it out.

Frontal of the box. I have to say, the design makes the jacket look super realistic!

This is what the box looks like when the jacket is opened.

Notice the diaries "tucked in" at the sides.

I'll be scanning them soon so, as Iris would say, keep an eye for that ;-P

The back of the box. Apparently The Nightmares are MH's "casketball" team.

Left side of the box, or should I say left sleeve? There's a patch of Manny's skullette, a bull, and a casketball logo.

Speaking of which, here's the jacket in question (for the doll I mean):

There's actually a story behind SDCC Manny's jacket.

For some reason the factory that packed the dolls forgot to include it in the box so

they decided they would sell them separately.

What happened is there weren't enough jackets for all the packs so a lot of collectors missed

on getting them and now they go from $30 to $40 on eBay.

So, how did we get it?

Well, it was a super pleasant surprise actually because my sister and I agreed we would pass

on the jacket and make one ourselves, we had no clue our super cool and kind seller had

included it too *__*

I guess we got lucky there hehehe ^__^

So I'll end this post with one last picture of Manny and Iris in the box

Do you notice something funny about our Iris, I think her right ring finger is not supposed to look like that xD

I plan on sharing more photos of this pack in my next post and, as I mentioned before, the diaries too...

Fakes, fakies, knock-offs, rip-offs, clones, call them what you want!

Ladies and gents, here's my lengthy post and photo collection of Monster High fakes!

Let's start simple, you probably have seen these though:

Gothic Angels

These were sold on an American online store for around $13

As you can see only their clothes, make-up and skin colour resemble the main MH cast.

The dolls are generic, I think these must have been some of the first MH fakies made.

I actually saw some myself at a toy store a while back:

Draculaura's eyes o__O

And that's the only picture you'll see that's mine because I haven't seen many
fun fakies in real life :-/

So all the other photos here weren't taken by me but I'll try to give credit
and the source of where I found them!

For example, here's a fun picture of fakie MH babies by a Flickr contact of mine, Giulia:

Monster Kindergarden?

And they're "perfumados" too (scented in Spanish!).
Apparently these were designed and released only Spain.

I found more Monster baby dolls on Flickr, these photos are by Val dOLL
and apparently they come from Mexico.

She looks like she could be Chucky's daughter xD

Come on! Don't tell me this Lagoona doesn't look a bit like Tiffany, Chucky's girlfriend LOL

I like her ears ^_^

Even my favourite ghoul, Spectra, gets her Baby doll!

Little Deuce with real "punky" hair

Baby Toralei looks purrfect in this animal print top!

Left to right, Draculogan, Abbey, Holt Hyde, Draculaura, Clawd and Ghoulia.

Maybe you're unfamiliar with Draculogan, he's not an official character made by Mattel actually.
He's a popular OOAK custom doll and character created by MHScreamQueen:

Make sure to see MHScreamQueen's other pictures of this convincing custom, he's fangtastic!

This means OOAK and customs are not saved from the fakie treatment!!!

Recently Mattel announced a MH styling head (I think it was about time they made one)
but the Chinese beat them to it:

Gigi Grant styling head! No, this is not from Mattel!

Haunt the Casbah Frankie, isn't she cute?

I found those heads on an Ukranian online toy store, they retail for around $19 each.
I think they look pretty and they're a new idea for a fakie!

There's Lagoona and Skelita too!

Next I found these on the same Ukranian toy site:

So, Toralei's boyfriend...
You would think these "copycats" would have got creative inventing a new character, well, nope!

Again this is another rip-off of a custom OOAK, by Alberto Zunino this time:

On a site that sells goods from China I found more Werecats twins:

I'm sure I'm not the only one who finds Chinglish amusing LOL

(they're some kind of eBays that sells goods (junk, ahem) from China that you can buy wholesale too)

and I found a jaw-dropping fakie, Webarella!

Elves Resurrection!!! "Monster Elves"!

Ewww that pink handbag and standee!

I would like to get my hands on one of these just to see the quality of their bodies.

It looks like she can be completely dismantled just like the C.A.M. (Create A Monster) dolls.

Just for fun, here's a Barbie/Wydowna Spider hybrid that I found on that site too:

Yes that looks like a toy of Frozen's Olaf and no I dunno what's it doing there, LOL

These don't look really good, their articulation is limited...

This is more like it!

I have the original Haunt the Casbah Frankie and I've got to say, this fakie's dress looks a lot like the real one!

Monster Girl! The MH skulette icon looks so cheeky here xD

Next on the line, Ghouls Rule!

They're in desperate need for some hairspray, those flyaway hairs are a nightmare!

This Cleo sort of, ahem, scares me O__O

I think I can see her butt Oh my Rah!

On the other hand I'm pretty impressed on this Draculaura's eye make-up, it looks like the real one's.

This fakie Abbey looks cute, she just needs a hair brush poor thing :-/

Talking about posing, I saved this one because I thought it looked ridiculous:

But enough about girls and ghouls, let's talk boys!

I found different kinds of clones of Deuce, Clawd, Holt and Jackson:

I bet none of your dolls would wanna date these, they look evil!

Looks like a knock-off of the Ice and Blob Girl C.A.M. set

More Ice and Blob girl. These actually look exactly like the originals!!!

Siren/Mermaid and Blob girl has turned into a Siren too!

This one comes with a lot of water/sea pets! Notice the lobster and crab LOL

What do we have here... A Bratzillaz Switch-a-Witch and Monster High crossover???

For the record I'll also post this MH themed furniture

(it's only Barbie-ish furniture with some stickers though):
